The Funds administered by UCA Funds are charitable schemes under a Class Order issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) (currently Class Order 02/184). The Class Order provides an exemption from various fundraising, managed investment and licensing provisions of the Corporations Act 2001 (the Act) for religious, educational, community and other charitable organisations.
The Funds are not subject to the normal requirement to have a Disclosure Document or Product Disclosure Statement and be registered or have a trust deed under the Act. The Offer Document has not been, and is not required to be, lodged with ASIC, and ASIC takes no responsibility for the contents of this Offer Document or for the products offered.
The Offer Documents of the UCA Cash Portfolio, UCA Growth Portfolio, Australian Equities Portfolio and Uniting Growth Fund are not Product Disclosure Statements governed by the Act. However, their content has been prepared having regard to the content requirements for a Product Disclosure Statement under the Act.
Neither UCA Funds nor the Funds are prudentially supervised by APRA. Contributions to the Funds do not obtain the benefit of the depositor protection provisions of the Banking Act 1959. The Funds are designed for investors who wish to promote the charitable purposes of the Funds.
